After earning a degree in Law from the University of Cagliari with a thesis in International Law, Massimiliano Masia obtained the qualification to practice law. Following his registration in the Bar of Cassation Lawyers, he also gained the right to practice before the Higher Courts. His preparation has always been focused on achieving an excellent knowledge of international law through attending master’s degrees and high-specialization courses in the said field.

Moreover, Attorney Masia has represented major foreign companies in litigation of national importance before the Judicial Authority. Since 2011, as a LEGAL ADVISOR at the Army General Staff, he has provided legal advice to military leaders in an international context and in a setting with a strong multinational connotation. In this role, he participated in operations in Iraq/Kurdistan, Afghanistan, and Bosnia, drafting important technical agreements with representatives of the international coalition countries, as well as numerous commercial contracts between local businesses (Kurdish-Iraqi, Afghan, etc.) and the Italian government. Furthermore, he represented the Ministry of Defense in international arbitrations before the Arbitral Tribunal in the Bosnian Federal Republic, receiving significant recognitions on these occasions.

He is also a speaker at numerous conferences and seminars on International Law. Since July 13, 2023, he has been the “Italian Representative IICUAE 2023/2024” – a professional certified by the Chamber of Commerce in the United Arab Emirates – for Italian companies engaged in commercial activities with the Persian Gulf countries. He speaks Italian and English.
